PUPIL PREMIUM PLUS FOr previously looked-after children

Education settings receive £2530 per academic year for each previously looked-after child that is on the school’s roll.

Children recorded in the previous year’s schools census and alternative provision census who were looked after by a local authority immediately before being adopted, or who left local authority care on a special guardianship order are eligible for Pupil Premium Plus funding.

The Local Authority’s Virtual School does not receive the Pupil Premium Plus funding for these children, this is paid directly to maintained schools by the Schools Funding Team at the LA and academies receive this funding direct from the Education Skills Funding Agency.

For further information, please see ‘Funding for Previously Looked-After Children‘ page.
