VIRTUAL school SupportThe Virtual School has a Post 16 Education Support Officer who supports children in care to reach their potential following Year 11, up until they turn 18. The Education Support Officer provides this support in different ways, such as – proposing strategies and interventions to assist progress, leading on projects that support Post 16 CIC, delivering training to further education providers/semi independent staff and helping source the most effective provision for Post 16 CIC.
Every Child in Care (CIC) must have a Pathway Plan. The Pathway Plan details how the council will help CIC prepare for adult life and live independently. It’s essential that the wishes and feelings of the young person are at the heart of this. The plan should cover everything that is needed to support CIC to succeed and achieve their potential.
Futures can help young people who are not in education, employment or training. They can help people choose a career, get qualified or find a job. They work with individuals by providing advice, guidance and practical support that help people achieve their goals. Please click here to go the Futures for You website for further details.
